Two St. Patrick’s Day parades, the Collier County Fair, Estero’s anniversary party and more.

Here’s our list of things to do with the kids this weekend, March 16-18, in the Fort Myers-Naples area.

Friday, March 16

35th San-Cap Lions Arts & Crafts Fair — 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957. Over 100 juried artists and craftspeople will be present. Family friendly. Food and refreshments. Free parking, $5 donation for admission goes to Lions sight-based charities, free admission for children younger than 12.

Baby Boot Camp — 9 a.m. Miromar Outlets, 10801 Corkscrew Road, Estero, FL 33928. Certified fitness professionals instruct exercise classes for pregnant, post-natal and ultra-fit moms every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in WINK Playland.

Collier County Fair — March 15-25. Collier County Fairgrounds, 751 39th Ave. N.E., Naples. New this year: the Euro Slide, which stands 75 feet tall and runs about 120 feet long with seven lanes for downhill slide racing, and "FARMily Feud," an agriculture education show in which teams compete to test their knowledge of farm life. Among the returning shows: the "Freestyle Madness FMX and BMX" stunt show. General admission to the fair is $10 for people 12 years and older; $5 for people 11 to 6 years of age; and free for children 5 and under. Day Out with Thomas: Big Adventures Tour 2018 — March 10-18. Florida Rail Road Museum, 12210 83rd St. E., Parrish. A life-size Thomas the Tank Engine pulls into the town of Parrish, just south of Tampa to take kids on a 25-minute ride with the tank engine (it talks!). March 10 and 11 and March 16-18. Plus, meet Sir Topham Hatt and enjoy crafts, photo ops and other activities. Gates open at 8 a.m. and the fun continues until 5 p.m. with train rides every hour starting at 9 a.m. Tickets are $19-$23 for ages 2 and older. frrm.org/dowt2018

Estero’s 3rd Anniversary Party — 6-9 p.m. Estero Community Park, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd., Estero. The Village of Estero celebrates its third anniversary this year with a free party for the entire family. There will be face painting and other children’s activities, a variety of food and entertainment and dancing with music by Billy Dean & Dawn. estero-fl.gov

Dinosaurs: Back with a Roar — February 17-June 3. Naples Botanical Garden, 4820 Bayshore Drive, Naples. Ten life-size animatronic dinosaurs are on display among the foliage of the gardens. Plus, there’s a fossil dig and a dinosaur photo station. The gardens are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Music Walk — 6-10 p.m. Fort Myers River District, 1400 Jackson St., Fort Myers, FL 33901. On the third Friday of the month, local and regional musicians line the streets and play everything from jazz to rock ‘n’ roll. Free.

Paradise Coastmen Barbershop Chorus — 7 p.m. North Naples United Methodist Church, 6000 Goodlette-Frank Road, Naples, FL 34109. $20. The Paradise Coastmen present from Ireland to Nashville and Broadway. Then on March 17, shows are at 2 and 7 p.m. paradisecoastmen.org

Photography Annual Exhibit — 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Rookery Bay NERR and Environmental Learning Center, 300 Tower Road, Naples, FL 34113. $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-12 Hosted by the Friends of Rookery Bay and the United Arts Council of Collier County, the annual exhibit includes juried works submitted by artists from Collier and Lee counties.

“The Music Man” — March 7-April 8. Sugden Community Theatre, 701 Fifth Ave. S., Naples. $45 for adults, $35 for subscribers, $10 for students and educators. A family-friendly musical comedy by Meredith Willson. “The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize. When he falls for the librarian, his plans to skip town with the cash are foiled. Show runs March 7-April 8. Charlotte County Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt — 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Bayshore Live Oak Park, 23157 Bayshore Road, Port Charlotte. Free. Easter egg hunts for youngsters with special needs. Engine Demonstration — 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Koreshan State Historic Site, 3800 Corkscrew Road Estero, FL 33928. Free with Park Admission. Meet at the Generator Building in the Industrial Area of Koreshan State Historic Site for a demonstration of the Fairbanks Morse diesel engine. Watch as piece of history roars to life.

Fort Myers Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade: — 10 a.m. Estero Boulevard, Fort Myers Beach. The annual parade travels along Estero Boulevard from Santini Marina Plaza North to the Church of the Ascension. Kids Cruise Free — 10-11:30 a.m. Tin City, 1200 Fifth Ave. South (US 41 East ), Naples. Adult tickets are $37.50 per person. Child tickets are free with adult purchase. Additional child tickets are $18.75. The 1.5 hour children’s cruise provides an entertaining environment for children to learn about the Southwest Florida environment. While Pure Florida cannot guarantee animal sightings in the wild, the captain will alert passengers to wildlife such as dolphins, pelicans, eagles, manatee, native birds and more. Musical Discovery Zone — 11 a.m. Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples, aka C’mon, 15080 Livingston Road, Naples. Children (and adults!) meet several musicians from the orchestra and try playing some of the instruments.

Naples St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration — 11 a.m. Downtown Naples. The 42nd-annual parade travels along 10th Avenue South to Third Street South, Fifth Avenue South and Eighth Street South. It’s followed by live music all day at Sugden Plaza on Fifth Avenue South. The event draws more than 10,000 people to downtown Naples every year. Free. Fifth Avenue South will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Third Avenue South will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. naplesparade.com

National Quilting Day and Antique Engine Show — 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Koreshan State Park, 3800 Corkscrew Road, Estero, FL 33928. $5 per carload. Quilts from the Koreshan Settlement will be hung around a restored Victorian-type building. Antique sewing machines will be used to make quilts for the VA. Quilt Preservation kits will be sold so you learn how to care for grandma’s quilt. Other demonstrations will feature how to tell the difference from an American-made quality quilt from one purchased at a box store, how to fold and care for a quilt, and making a quilt using string piecing and quilt-as-you go techniques. Modern quilts will also be on display. Quilt-related items will be for sale. Madisen’s Match — March 18-19. The fundraiser starts with Olympic gold medalists Bob and Mike Bryan as headliners at the 10th Anniversary Gala Celebration and Auction at 6 p.m. March 18. At 8:45 a.m. March 19 is the Madisen’s Match Legends Tennis Camp followed by the Tennis Pro-Am at 1 p.m. Then at 6 p.m. is the Golisano Children’s Hospital Pro Tennis Classic, the region’s first indoor tennis event.
